1. Steel Making
Steelmaking has the greatest impact on the quality and cost of steel products. Metal in China® has state-of-the-art AOD, VOD and continuous casting facilities.
2. Hot Rolling
Slabs made in the steelmaking plant are rolled into black coils of highly refined thickness and shape before being made into white coils to the needs of customers through heat treatment, pickling and finishing in the annealing and pickling plant. White coils so produced are used for cold rolling, pipes and sheets.
3. Plates
Slabs produced at the steelmaking plant undergo rolling, heat-treatment and a pickling process, which are then cut into sizes as ordered and delivered to the customer. Thick plates are used by the heavy chemical industries that require corrosion resistance, such as petrochemicals, power plant facilities, paper manufacturing and special shipbuilding
4. Cold Rolling
Metal in China® is equipped with 20 high cluster mills, bright annealing line, TLL (Tension Leveling Line), AFC (Automatic Flatness Control), AGC (Automatic Gauge Control), which enable the production of cold rolled products of 0.1-3.0mm in thickness and up to 1580mm in width in various shapes and surface treatment.
Cut large coils into small coils or Strip
For steel coils, we offer the additional service of cutting large coils into smaller coils or strips.For container transportation, the loading weight of each container usually cannot exceed 26 tons, and each large roll is usually around 28 tons.
At seaports, each large steel coil is usually cut into 3 smaller coils for easy loading into containers. For bulk carrier transportation, the roll weight is usually required to be less than 18 tons, so most of the time, it is also necessary to cut a large roll into 2 small rolls.

For the final application, the coil needs to be flattened and cut into steel plates, so we flatten the coil and cut the coil into the required size of steel plate. In order to save the cost of container loading, it is loaded into a 20-foot container, so the cutting length is below 5800mm, usually cut into lengths of 2440mm and 5800mm according to requirements, and the width is usually 1220mm and 1500mm. After cutting the steel coil into steel plates, we can do black paint on the surface of the plates to make the plates rust-proof.

For parts that require extremely high wear resistance, we use abrasive waterjet cutting to maintain hardness throughout the part without creating a heat-affected zone. For thicker plates up to 200mm, we use precisely controlled CNC oxy-fuel cutting. For products requiring high cut quality and dimensional tolerances, we use high-definition underwater plasma cutting to maximize plate performance in abrasive applications.
