441 stainless steel is a dual-stabilized ferritic stainless steel with 18% chromium, combined with niobium (columbium) and titanium. This grade of stainless steel is known for its good corrosion resistance and formability, coupled with practical mechanical properties. It is used in a variety of applications, from exhaust systems of automobiles to stove tops and other home appliances.
A 441 stainless steel tube, therefore, is a tube manufactured from this type of steel. It inherits the properties of 441 stainless steel, making it ideal for various industrial applications, including but not limited to automotive exhausts, heat exchangers, and architectural elements.
This material is particularly suited to applications where high-temperature oxidation resistance is necessary. It also offers better high-temperature strength than many other ferritic stainless steels, and superior corrosion and oxidation resistance to that of 409 grade (the most commonly used ferritic stainless steel).
