Prepainted galvanized steel sheet is made of electro-galvanized and hot-dip galvanized steel as substrates. After pretreatment (degreasing and chemical treatment), one or more layers of coatings are continuously applied to the surface of the base metal by coil coating and then baked. It includes base metal (cold rolled steel), zinc coating, chemical conversion coating, primer coating, and top coating.

Top Paint: The top paint can form a dense film to reduce water permeability and oxygen permeability. The topcoat is able to block sunlight and prevent ultraviolet rays from damaging the coating;

Primer Paint: The primer often uses PE paint, which has better adhesion. So the top paint is not easy to desorb after water penetration to improve its corrosion resistance.

Zinc Coating: The zinc coating has a great influence on the service life of PPGI steel. The thicker the zinc coating, the better the corrosion resistance.

Substrate: Generally, it is a cold-rolled sheet with different strengths, which determines the mechanical properties of the color-coated sheet.

Back Paint: It aims to prevent the steel from corroding from the inside. If bonding is required on the back side, a single-layer back paint is recommended.

PPGI is pre-painted galvanized steel, also known as pre-coated steel, color coated steel etc. Using Hot Dip Galvanized Steel Coil as the substrate, PPGI is made by first going through surface pretreatment, then the coating of one or more layers of liquid coating by roll coating, and finally baking and cooling.

For the final application, the coil needs to be flattened and cut into steel plates, so we flatten the coil and cut the coil into the required size of steel plate. In order to save the cost of container loading, it is loaded into a 20-foot container, so the cutting length is below 5800mm, usually cut into lengths of 2440mm and 5800mm according to requirements, and the width is usually 1220mm and 1500mm.
