Hot-rolled carbon steel coils are produced by rolling and annealing semi-finished products to a certain thickness and then winding them into coils. Compared with hot rolled coil, cold rolled coil has a smoother surface, higher dimensional accuracy and greater strength.

Cut large coils into small coils or Strip
For carbon steel coils, we offer the additional service of cutting large coils into smaller coils or strips.For container transportation, the loading weight of each container usually cannot exceed 26 tons, and each large roll is usually around 28 tons.
At seaports, each large steel coil is usually cut into 3 smaller coils for easy loading into containers. For bulk carrier transportation, the roll weight is usually required to be less than 18 tons, so most of the time, it is also necessary to cut a large roll into 2 small rolls.

For the final application, the coil needs to be flattened and cut into steel plates, so we flatten the coil and cut the coil into the required size of steel plate. In order to save the cost of container loading, it is loaded into a 20-foot container, so the cutting length is below 5800mm, usually cut into lengths of 2440mm and 5800mm according to requirements, and the width is usually 1220mm and 1500mm. After cutting the steel coil into steel plates, we can do black paint on the surface of the plates to make the plates rust-proof.

Cold Rolled Coil, mostly used for technically sensitive and visually important works. To understand the production of cold rolled coil, it is necessary to know the hot rolled coil.
Hot rolled coil’s making process involves melting steel, the production of slab and rolling it into coil at high temperature. Hot rolled coils are waiting at room temperature for cooling in order to take the next step at their process. After this point, the making process of the cold rolled coil begins. Cold steels begin to be re-rolled at room temperature. This process provides cold rolled coils with much quality surface and accurate dimensions.
The CRCA steel and HRCA steel also vary in the thickness it can achieve. In CRCA you can roll metal into thin sheets of steel but in HRCA you cannot roll metal into very thin sheets.
